We have received a few more test kits and have a few masks still available for pick up this week. However, you can start ordering test kits from the federal government at https://www.covidtests.gov/ . Your insurance may cover up to 8 at home test kits per month, per person on your policy. Check out https://www.cms.gov/how-to-get-your-at-home-OTC-COVID-19-test-for-free for more information. Masks and test kits can be picked up between the hours of 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday at the Supervisor’s office. If you are displaying symptoms, please seek out a health care professional.

This week, I participated in a few zoom meetings about broadband. We still need your help to show exactly how bad availability is for some of the residents in the Town of Jay.  Please visit and share https://www.essexcountybroadband.com , this survey will compile the numbers we need to go after more grants and funding to reach those last houses that are currently out of reach.

We will be holding a special board meeting this Thursday, January 27th at 7:00 PM.  During this meeting, we will be discussing how to use the grant we won to repair the DEC required upgrades to the Waste Water Treatment plant with Essex County officials. We will also be discussing the electrical bids and the residency requirement for town employment. This will be in person, and we will have a link for you to join too.

AuSable Valley will be hosting a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at the Middle-High School on January 26th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the second dose will be offered at the Middle-High School on February 16th. To sign up for the clinic, visit https://avcs.org/covid-vaccination-clinic-announcement/

We have been updating the bulletin boards at the community center. We want to help promote events, businesses, and happenings in and around the Town of Jay. If you have flyers, business cards or anything information you want to get out the public, please stop by the Supervisor’s office to drop off your material.
