June 26, 2024 Update:

The bids for this project were opened on June 18th at the Town of Jay offices with several bidder in attendance.  MJ’s recommendations for contract awards are for General Construction – MCJ Construction, LLC for a total bid price of $1,305,000.00, Electrical – Weydman Electrical, Inc for a total bid price of $395,900.00, and HVAC – Pipeline Mechanical of Plattsburgh, LLC for a total bid price of $32,233.00.  This project will be awarded at the next town board meetings for each town.

May 3, 2024 Update:

After over a year of discussing possible additional grant opportunities and financial discussions, the DEC approved us to move forward with the project!  MJ Engineering will handle the bidding process and advertise for bid starting 5/20/24, with the bid opening to be on 6/18/24 at the Town of Jay offices.

January 18, 2023 Update:

MJ Engineering submitted a 100% Design for review before the end of 2022.  Today a meeting was held to discuss this design at the Town of Black Brook offices.  The chemical feed building location was moved closer to the reed beds to eliminate a need for a variance from the APA.  Discussion was had about the UV building, chemical fee building, chemicals, electrical needs, HVAC needs, and permits and approvals.  MJ Engineering plans to submit these plans and specifications to DEC and EFC for review prior to the 2/1/23 submission deadline.

October 5, 2022 Update:

The Town of Jay and Town of Black Brook met with MJ Engineering for the 30% Design Review.  Wetland delineation,  geotechnical investigation, and UV transmittance monitoring are completed.  Details were discussed about the UV building, chemical feed building, electrical needs and site work needed.  100% submission is expected before the end of the year.

The Town of Black Brook awarded the engineering bid for the WWTP upgrades.

MJ Engineering was awarded the engineering bid for the wastewater plant (WWTP) upgrades contingent on the Town of Black Brook awarding as well during their May 2022 meeting.
