Last week we held our regular monthly meeting at the Community Center. I gave updates about our current projects that are underway. The ADA upgrade at the Community Center is about 50% complete and we decided not to move forward with the snowmelt feature in the ramp. The disinfection and phosphorus removal upgrade at the wastewater plant is beginning with the Town of Jay, NY and the Town of Black Brook finally getting clearance from the DEC and EFC to move forward with this phase of the project. We will be applying for more funding to help offset the cost of the lagoon upgrade. Engineering is continuing to move forward on the water systems in town and we urge users to reply to the lead service line survey. All of this information and other topics can be viewed from the video on our webpage.
Light Up Upper Jay!! is working hard to expand the holiday lighting display in Upper Jay. They have 10 pole decorations that will be added this coming season, with hopes of adding as many as 20 pole decorations as donations allow. A spaghetti dinner fundraiser to assist in this effort has been set for April 27th at the Upper Jay Fire Department. Attached is the flyer for this event. Please show your support for this so we can welcome visitors into our town on both ends of 9N with great light displays.
Work will continue this week with the PRIDE of Ticonderoga and In-Site Architecture holding site visits on Main Street Au Sable Forks this Thursday and Friday. If you are a property or business owner on Main Street and would like to be part of this program, please visit https://prideofticonderoga.org/downtown/ to fill out an online application today. I am very excited by this work to revitalize our Main Street!
Hope you have a great week,
Matt.
