Last Thursday I was able to welcome a new business to the Town of Jay.  Sandy’s, a cidery, opened its doors for the first time in the former bakery in Upper Jay.  You can stop in to get a glass or bottle.  There are also light fare appetizers to pair with your homemade cider.  The owner, Zach Clemans, spent the time discussing his vision for the future and what he has done so far to get the doors open.  If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping!

Hot off the presses is the “Summer Edition 2024” of the Town of Jay News.  This issue has articles from each department, project updates, and summer events happening around our town.  We will not be mailing this edition out to homes, but you can pick one up around town or read it online.  You can visit our website and click on the news tab for a digital version.  If you prefer a hardcopy, they are at the Community Center, libraries, and various businesses.

On July 15th, 10:30 – 11:30 am, Essex County Office for the Aging will be distributing Farmers Market Coupons to eligible individuals.  Participants will receive a booklet with 5 – $5 coupons to be used around the area.  Interested individuals must be 60 years of age or older and be income eligible.  Please see the attached flyer.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate all the graduates in the area.  Whether you are graduating from kindergarten, 8th grade, high school, or college, the next chapter of your life is about to begin.  I especially would like to congratulate my daughter Addie on her graduation from AVCS.

Hope you have a great week,

Matt.
