I would like to start this week off with a huge thank you to local law enforcement that responded to the incident in AuSable Acres last night.  The response was swift by the New York State Police, Essex County Sheriff’s Department and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.  I would like to remind everyone about our Town of Jay communication system, Voyent Alert.  Once I was in contact with the NY State Police, I was able to quickly get out the message over this system.  Sign up to receive texts, emails, and/or calls along with alerts in the app if you choose.  Register today online or through their website at http://register.voyent-alert.us

I am working with the Essex County IDA and the Au Sable River Valley Business Association to set up a meeting to discuss a possible grant opportunity.  We are hoping to apply for a CDBG Microenterprise grant.  This grant program is for small startup or established businesses who are looking to expand or assist in operation.  There are some guidelines for businesses to qualify, but if you are interested in this program, please contact my office so we can get you on the notification list.  I am very excited for this opportunity for our business community.

This Thursday is our regular monthly Town Board Meeting at 7:00pm.  We will hold a public hearing at 6:00pm about the CDBG Home rehabilitation grant we plan to apply for the Town of Jay.  North Country Rural Development Coalition, formerly the Pride of Ticonderoga, will be in attendance to discuss this opportunity.  The public hearing originally scheduled for 6:30 for Local Law #1 of 2024 has been moved to July.  All these meetings will be available online to participate in.

Hope you have a great week,

Matt.
