The FISU World University Games are here!  I was lucky enough to go to Wilmington Thursday morning and watch the festivities as the torch arrived.  I was even able to catch the attached selfie with Mac the Moose while I was there.  That evening, I attended the welcome reception with former Town of Jay Supervisor Randy Douglas.  While I did not get to meet with Governor Hochul, I was able to visit with many state representatives including Assemblymen Billy Jones and Matt Simpson as well as Senator Dan Stec.  The evening was capped off by an amazing opening ceremony where there was a standing ovation as the Ukrainian team was introduced.

Also on Thursday evening, our 2023 Organizational Board meeting was held at the Town of Jay.  I want to thank Deputy Supervisor Tom McDonald for running the meeting while I was at the opening ceremonies in Lake Placid.  We held 2 public hearings prior to the meeting and passed a local law to increase the number of alternates for the Planning Board which also allows those alternates to fill in during the absence of a regular planning board member.  If you would like to see the video of these meetings they are available on our website:

Lastly, we have a planning board meeting on Wednesday at 6:00pm.  If you would like to view from home, you can use the same planning board meeting link each month at:

Have a great week,
