Today, at the Essex County Board of Supervisors’ meeting, we held a Memorial Day Observance in front of the Board of Supervisors’ building.  This observance was very touching from the words of remembrance spoken to the somber playing of Taps.  It was a great reminder of what was given for us to have the freedoms we enjoy.

At the end of last week, I attended the PERMA (Public Employer Risk Management Association) conference at the Sagamore in Bolton Landing.  I took part in several classes, including, Recruitment and Retention, Detecting Fraud, Information about the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act, and How to Handle Stressful Situations.  The Keynote Speaker discussed Innovation, which is extremely important in this ever changing world.  I look forward to putting this information to use for the town.

This Saturday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, there is a fundraiser for the AVCS Baseball field at the Elementary School.  The fundraiser will be at 20 Main where there will be Raffles, a Silent Auction, and Live Music.  All proceeds will go to the baseball facility upgrades including a new scoreboard, flag pole, benches and more.

Lastly, I would like to Congratulate our AVCS Girls Softball team on their victory against Lake Placid to capture the Section VII, Class C Championship last week.  This Thursday at 4:30 PM, they will face Norwood-Norfolk of Section X at the Field House of Plattsburgh State in Regional play.  Good Luck Patriots!

Have a great week,

Matt Stanley.
