The 60th annual AuSable Forks Fastpitch tournament was held at Billy Mitchell Field in AuSable Forks. The hamlet was extremely busy with competitors and fans. Friday evening was wrapped up by an amazing firework show. I would like to thank all who were involved for a very well planned and well attended event. The benefit to the area goes far beyond the field. Congratulations to the AuSable Brewers for placing third out of 8 teams on the 25th anniversary of the old home town win.
This week is a busy week at the town for meetings. On Wednesday evening, the Planning Board will be meeting at the Community Center at 6:00pm. At the same time, our Waste Water Upgrade Committee will be meeting with Rob Wick from Essex County Community Resource at the Town of Black Brook. On Thursday, at 7:00pm is our Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting. The AuSable River Association will be making a river restoration presentation about site 13, Grove Island.
We are still looking for promotional material from Town of Jay businesses to be displayed on a Town of Jay table at the Ironman Athlete’s Village. The booth will be on display from Wednesday, July 20 through Friday July 22. This is a great opportunity to showcase what your business has to offer. Ironman is trying to promote the things to do in the towns the course goes through. If you have anything you would like to be part of our booth, please contact my office and drop off any handouts to be on display.
Ironman has opened up complementary admission to Town of Jay kids, ages 1-17 who would like to participate in the Ironkids Fun Run or the Ironkids Dip and Dash. If you are interested, please contact my office and we will help you register.
Lastly, I would like to remind people to support business in the Town of Jay. If you have not stopped at SoulShine Energy, who recently added a tea bar to their business on Main Street in Au Sable Forks, you should. The menu of amazing flavored teas will have you coming back time and time again. Give them a try!
Have a great week,
