The Town of Jay is pleased to announce the appointment of Robbe Baer to Town of Jay Code Enforcement Officer. Robbe brings years of experience in the building field to the job and we are looking forward to working with him! Previous Town of Jay Codes Officer Tom Worthington will be working along side Robbe as he completes his certification training. Robbe’s first official day on the job will be Monday, June 24th and we will be posting his schedule in the upcoming days.
The Au Sable Forks ACAP Senior Meal Site will be hosting a free “Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program” (AFEP) at the Town of Jay Community Center on Wednesday’s, beginning May 22, from 10:30-11:30 am. The construction for the Sewer System Upgrades has been completed on Burt Lane and the road is now open to traffic.
Please be advised that pursuant to the order of the Honorable Archie Depo, the Town of Jay will hold and conduct a Special Town Board Meeting on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 6:00 pm at the Town of Jay Offices located at 11 School Lane, Au Sable Forks, NY for the following purpose:
- To conduct a hearing pursuant to Local Law 1 of 2018 relative to property owned by Lance K. Galvin and to make a determination of a violation of said Local Law and the abatement and removal of junk
- Together with any and all other business that might come before the Board
This meeting is open to the public and all interested persons are invited to attend.
Burt Lane in Au Sable Forks will be closed from the Jersey Sewer Pump Station on Burt Lane to Garso Lane for a period of two weeks beginning on March 27th and lasting until April 10th. This closure is related to the Sewer System upgrades currently taking place.
The Town of Jay is searching for candidates to join the Town of Jay Board of Assessment Review. The successful applicants will form a three person board that will conduct Grievance Hearings with regards to property assessments. Training for this position will be provided.

Town of Jay Supervisor Archie Depo, after a conference call with New York State Emergency Services, is issuing a warning that beginning Sunday night, February 24 , please expect strong winds from 30-60 m.p.h. with dropping temperatures. These winds will continue Monday with gusts of 30-40 m.p.h. National Grid and NYSEG are ramping up to address any possible power outages.
