AN UPDATE TO TOWN OF JAY WATER USERS FROM SUPERVISOR ARCHIE DEPO
Please be advised that after meetings with the well drillers and hydrologists we have determined the following:
- Extensive site work will need to be done in order to prepare the ground for the weight of the well drilling rigs. At that time the casings can be pulled and a course of action for repairs can be determined
- The BOIL WATER ORDER will likely be in place for at least one more week
As a result of the length of time that the BOIL WATER ORDER must remain in place, I have made arrangements with Essex County Emergency Services for a water tanker truck to be parked at the Upper Jay Fire House in the upcoming days. Residents of the Jay Water District (W2) and the Upper Jay Water District (W3) will be granted access to this water for the duration of the BOIL WATER ORDER. (Residents must bring their own containers for water) This truck should be arriving at the Fire House late in the afternoon on Tuesday, May 4th.
Until the truck arrives on site, bottled water is still available by calling the Highway Garage at 518-647-2204 x125 or the Supervisors Office at 518-647-2204 x101.
