Youth Basketball is Back!

If you’ve driven past the Community Center the last two Saturdays, you may have noticed a full parking lot—that’s because Youth Commission Basketball in the Town of Jay and the Town of Black Brook is back! It’s fantastic to see so many people enjoying the games in the gym again. Check out the attached collage from opening weekend! If you’re looking for something fun to do, stop by and support our local youth—the games are open to the public, and there’s plenty of room to watch.

Support Local Conservation

Last summer, Essex County Soil & Water hydro-seeded our soccer field, and now they’re hosting their annual tree sale through March 3rd. Orders can be placed online or via mail by February 17th, with pickup available on April 17th from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Proceeds support the vital work they do for our town and county. More details can be found here: https://www.essexcountyswcd.org/tree-sale.html.

Exciting Opportunity in Local Agriculture

As a board member of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Essex County (CCE Essex), I want to share a great opportunity—CCE Essex is hiring a grassroots marketing professional to lead the Adirondack Harvest program! This is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact by supporting local farmers and helping organize the annual Adirondack Harvest Festival. If you’re interested, check out the job listing here: https://essex.cce.cornell.edu/jobs.
