Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful start to 2025. I’m looking forward to a productive and successful year for our community.
Town Meetings
Our annual Organizational Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 9th, at 7:00 PM. During this meeting, we’ll be approving contracts, committee appointments, and stipends based on the 2025 budget. The meeting will be held in person and also available virtually for your convenience. Please note that the Planning Board meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 8th has been canceled, as no applications were submitted.
Youth Commission
Youth Commission Basketball is underway! Practices are being held at the Community Center and Holy Name Gym. Games are set to begin on Saturday, January 25th, with home games taking place at the Community Center. Come out and support our young athletes!
Upcoming Trainings and Conferences
Over the next few months, I’ll be attending several important trainings and conferences to help further our town’s growth:
- February: NYS Association of Towns in NYC (President’s Weekend through mid-week)
- Following week: NYS Association of Counties in Albany
- Week after that: National Association of Counties in Washington, D.C.
These events provide invaluable opportunities to learn about grant programs, municipal best practices, and strategies to enhance economic growth. I’m committed to bringing back insights and resources to benefit the Town of Jay and Essex County.
