Tomorrow, November 7th, is Election Day. Polls open at 6:00am and close at 9:00pm at the Community Center. This year we have two town wide races and two county wide races. In the Town of Jay, Tom McDonald and Olivia Dwyer are running for two vacant seats on the Town Board and Pat Devlin is running unopposed for Town Justice. In Essex County, there is a race for County Clerk and State Supreme Court Judge. There are two statewide propositions on the ballot. You can see a sample ballot attached. Please exercise your right to vote.
The public hearing for the 2024 Town budget has been moved to Wednesday, November 8th at 7:00 pm at the Community Center. This meeting will also be available to view online. There will be time for residents to address the board, both in person and online.
This week is our monthly meeting week. The Planning Board will hold their meeting at 6:00pm on Wednesday at the Community Center. Thursday will be the monthly Town Board meeting at 7:00pm at the Community Center. There will be a public hearing at 6:30pm prior to the Town Board meeting to discuss Local Law #4 of 2023, a Local Law to Override the Tax Cap. All meetings and hearings will be broadcast virtually on the usual meeting links, which can be found on the website.
