This past weekend I was invited to join Essex County, NY Women, Infants and Children WIC at their WIC n’ Pick event at Craigardan in Elizabethtown called Backyard Bees. This event taught recipients of WIC about Beekeeping and the benefits that come with it. The hives were opened so we could see the bees busy at work, it was a great opportunity. There are several more WIC n’ Pick activities planned for this summer, call 518-873-3560 or visit their Facebook page above.
Another successful season has concluded for Town of Black Brook/Jay Youth Commission Softball and Baseball. We had a large number of athletes participate this year. Of course, the more players, the more volunteer coaches we require. I would like to thank our volunteer coaches who dedicated their time and sponsors who help with uniforms. I love forward to the beginning of soccer season which is just around the corner.
Lastly, I volunteered at a bike aid station with several other Town of Jay, NY of Jay residents on Sunday during IRONMAN Lake Placid. This event brings a lot of revenue to Essex County and the Town of Jay in Sales Tax and Occupancy Tax. Next year will be the 25th Anniversary of the event in Lake Placid.
Hope you have a great week,
Matt.
