Administer/Enforce the NYS Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and Enforce Local Laws; Maintain Safety/Health Standards as mandated by NYS; Issue, deny or revoke Building Permits and Certificates of Occupancy; Perform On-Site Investigations.

Minimum Qualifications:
1) Must be willing to become certified and successfully fulfill all training requirements according to N.Y.S Codes Enforcement & Administration
2) Knowledge of Construction and Principals
3) Blue Print Experience
4) Town of Jay Residency Requirement

AU SABLE FORKS BOIL WATER ORDER LIFTED-MAY 31

Town of Jay Officials received word at 2:56 p.m. from the New York State Department of Health that the Boil Water Order issued to the Au Sable Forks Water District has been lifted. Kristen M. Sayers, District Director, stated “The Boil Water Order is no longer necessary based on satisfactory chlorine residuals in the system and satisfactory bacteriological sample results”. ROAD CLOSURES SATURDAY, JUNE 2, 2018

Please be advised that the Wilmington Whiteface 100K Mountain Bike Race ( a “qualifier” for the National Leadville 100) will take place on June 2, 2018 from the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Bartlett Road and the Styles Brook Road to the Jay Mountain Road will be closed during these hours except to local traffic for this “out and then back” race.

BOIL WATER IN EFFECT FOR AU SABLE FORKS-MAY 29, 2018

Please be advised that due to a downed chlorinator the Town of Jay has issued a Boil Water Order for all Au Sable Forks Water District Users by order of the N.Y.S. Department of Health. This order will be in effect until further notice. There will be bottled water available at the Town of Jay Community Center located at 11 School Lane for those affected by this order. HENRY’S TRAIL

Please be advised that the Town of Jay DPW, under the direction of DPW Director Kevin Zaumetzer, is currently working on Henry’s Trail repairing winter storm damage and making improvements to the trail. This project is expected to take approximately one week.
We hope that you will take advantage of this unique trail system once work is completed.

ROAD CLOSURE – HAZEN ROAD

Please be advised that the Hazen Road will be closed Monday, April 23rd for culvert replacement. The closure which will be from the Kyea residence to the Stanley residence, will begin at 6:30 a.m. and continue until the project is completed. Any questions can be directed to Town of Jay D.P.W.
